What Im even more chuffed about is that their prices are pretty decent too. A win in my book. In fact, depending on how fast you get your Halloween act together, sometimes you can even get early bird sales. For example, I once got witches broom sticks for 10 bux each(super score, if you know what they normally go for!). That was purely because they were prepping for new stock coming in. And this year they really didn’t disappoint.
I hit up two different King Cake in my neighbood. The one down Raats Drive (opposite Bayside) and the latest addition, at the Emporium Mall, in Sandown Road (where Food Lovers market and N2ice Cream Lab is)
Both are good, but Emporium Mall in my humble opionion seemed to stock a more diverse range of choice. It ranged from the truly gory (that will not be pictured on my blog) to the cute for kids. Most importantly, they stock all the basics- which I think is crucial for all the newbie Halloweeners out there, who are just wetting their toes in the “traditions” of this fun day.
So witches hats, vampire capes, vampire teeth, fake blood, face paint, luminescent nail polish, wigs, loads of masks, even witch face props are easy pickings there. (Check out the pix below). But bear in mind I DID NOT cover all their costume stock in these pix. I would say pop in at one of their stores or their website a visit for a real feel for what they have to offer.
I have to mention that they have an awesome witch hat selection. So much so, I had to get one (It was actually making me question our choice of Halloween charatecrs for this year – we’re thinking of going as Frankenstein’s Monster, and the Monster’s Bride) And at the decent price of R79.99, I figured it wouldn’t go to waste either way.Check it out.
They stock loads, from the simplest of things such as pumpkin and skull confetti to pumpkin candy holders, all sorts of Halloween based bunting, to cool fake crows, party pack fillers, life size wall mounts to real gory bits that I eluded to earlier.
You wont be sorry for checking them out. So to give you a bit of a peek into their stocks, here are a few things that caught my eye.
They even starting to move into motorised space. Not wow, but this laughing witch will definitely add some creepy visual and sound effect for your décor.
There is so much more than I have pictured here. So I would urge you, if you’re on the hunt for some decent Halloween décor for your kiddies/adult party, pop in at the local King cake. And if your local one is not in the Parklands area, and maybe not living up to what Im saying here, I’d suggest come on over to our neighbourhood, these guys know a lot about Halloween fun.
