So there have several awesome moments of 2014 that I could reflect on specifically for my blog in honor of the 2015 countdown. But in truth, looking through my pix, it was these simple shots that made me just breathe with gratitude.
But you see, these sunsets that I captured, happened to be those very few times that hubby and I weren’t scrambling around the house like the crazies we’ve become, doing the bidding of our short little masters. Getting dinner sorted (and all the drama that the youngest beast has now brought to the dinner table), bathing (and looking like drenched cats thereafter), hunting down the very specific PJ combination the eldest has decided on, or finding the smallest’s sleep blankie (that she once more sneaked out of her room and tossed into the indoor garden from the top floor)… and the bajillion other odd tasks one finds onerself doing once you crossover into parenthood.
Those were the moments that we actually had all our shit together, and the stars aligned, thus making the kids also magically listen to us, and let things run to plan. Those were the moments where we didnt have a major work day to prepare for, where usually it would be that once the kids were down, we’d give a quick kiss and get cracking on our laptops.(And, for those dirty minded lot of you who I so love, and are now counting the pix: No, that does not mean we only had sex six times this year!) 😉
Yes, those were the moments we would meet up on the first floor of the gallery (unplanned) and happen to catch the sunset. Leaning on the bannister, his arm over me, we could just breath and take in the awesome beauty of the city we live in…and just take in each other, the closeness of our embrace…and the rich blessing that we have in each other and our little family.
Ahhhhhhhh…2014, what a year you were…and still are! These sunset moments, I shall forever treasure. I hope you too have plenty of such moments to treasure.
