Launch of the brand new Belly 2 Tots store

When I was invited to the opening of a brand new baby and maternity goods store this weekend, I was honestly just expecting the usual ohh-and-ahh’s of all the pretty little stuff on their shelves. I was certainly not expecting to be moved to tears by the story of inspiration, that is Candice King – the owner of the brand spanking new store, Belly 2 Tots. But I suppose that’s one of my favourite things in life: Surprises!!

And boy does Candice, along with her new business venture pack a punch in the surprise department.

First up, hallelujah to Continue reading

Best places to get your costume hire groove on!

PhotoGrid_1444909098975Round up of where to get your Fancy dress/Costume hire groove on.

If you haven’t heard yet, we’re in Halloween season, folks. Meaning, the parties are lining up, and you’re going to need a decent costume! Or maybe you’re just in need of some fun and funky ideas for that fancy dress party you’re invited to. Now, whilst Im pretty(very) down with DIY costumes, I’ve learnt that time is less and less on my side – especially with every kid we add to the equation. (Granted there are only two right now) And maybe it’s the same for you (?) So, with that in mind, I’ve learnt to appreciate a bonafide Continue reading

Get your ceramic craftiness on at the Colour Me Crazy Den!

In our home, because of our crazy banana work times, like many other parents, Mikey and I are very protective and somewhat anal about spending quality time with our kids; Being completely in the moment with them, and just living in their world – free of distractions, like phones (save for the photo ops, of course!). Doing something special that requires full engagement and attention -home or outdoors. Often with varying combinations, as in Mom with Morgan-Lee, Mom with Parker-Grace, Mom with both beasties (similarly for dad) , or all four of us together.

So about two Saturdays ago, Morgy and I found ourselves right in our element at the awesome little ceramic art haven of Colour me Crazy. And it really made for perfect Continue reading

Easy family time at Meerendal Farmer’s Market

I promise they had an awesomely fun time, despite those faces you see here.

So this market is not exactly your sprawling lawns, with stalls as far as the eye can see kind of market. No. But that is exactly what I LOVE about it! Because, honestly, there are days when we just don’t feel like the crowds, or the hipster buzz, or being spoilt for choice. I know that sounds weird…Normally that’s some of the best bits to a market, right? But ya know, when you’re really tired from a work week, one that’s been peppered with one too many sleep deprived nights courtesy of parentlife, and all the other responsibilities and commitments that go with it, sometimes we just don’t have the energy to navigate anything too big. But we know the kids need to get out of the house as much as we do. Yes? Well, then Meerendal Farmer’s Market is just the thing for you!

It’s got a little bit of everything, caters sufficently for entertaining kiddies, and certainly does satisfy any Continue reading
